FAQ
What To Expect From A Visit To The Physiotherapist
You will be asked to arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete our clinic’s registration and health history forms. Consultation with your physiotherapist will then commence. Our clinics are family friendly and we are happy for family members, partners or friends to accompany you during your visits. If at any time during the consultation the physiotherapist feels that your condition is unsuitable for physiotherapy treatment, they will advise you of this and refer you to your GP or other appropriate health care professional.
This is where your physiotherapy gets to listen and understand any current symptoms and also establish a clear picture of your overall health. You will also discuss any specific aims or goals that you wish to achieve from receiving chiropractic care. All of your personal and health details will be kept strictly confidential.
If your health history and/or physical assessment indicates that further investigation is required, such as X-rays, scans or blood tests, your chiropractor will explain why this is needed as well as how and when it can be arranged.
Your chiropractor will then compile the information gathered and present it to you in a clear and understandable report of findings. This will include a diagnosis, explanation of your problem and if it can be helped by chiropractic care.
If we can help, your chiropractor will outline your personalised care plan including treatment options available to you, an approximate timescale of your treatment, the costs involved and what you can expect from receiving chiropractic care.
Your chiropractor will give their professional opinion on what is required to restore your health as quickly and effectively as possible. We also aim to be approachable and take on board your input in order to create a team effort towards your recovery and encourage you to ask any questions you may have.
If you are happy to proceed with the proposed care plan, you will be asked to give your written consent before treatment commences. Treatment can often be started on the first visit where clinically appropriate. It can sometimes be started on the second visit depending on the outcome of the initial consultation.
Our Buckingham chiropractors use a wide range of techniques designed to relieve pain, restore proper function of joints, muscles and nerves and to promote healing. As your body regains normal function and strength, this will decrease the likelihood of your problem returning. You will often be given advice on self-help exercises, posture, diet and lifestyle changes that can enhance your recovery. Our treatment methods are directed by our extensive specialist training, clinical experience and the latest research evidence.
All physiotherapist at Thrive Chiropractic & Health Clinic are registered and regulated by the General Chiropractic Council which assures the highest standards of education, patient safety and professional conduct are met.
